Thoughts on Samsung - 40" Class 3D HDTV?
Samsung - 40" Class - LED - 1080p - 120Hz - Smart - 3D - HDTV

i need a new TV for the bedroom. this size seems perfect.
i've never purchased a 3D TV. so this would be the first.
it's pretty cheap, so i'm not sure if it's a good model?
any thoughts on this? somebody care to help out?

Well, it's a lot less at Amazon. The 6500 is actually a ways up the line, you possibly could save even more if you didn't need everything and drop down to the 6030. Amazon does great charts, scroll down to see a large feature comparison of all sorts of Samsung TVs.
"Smart TV" is the apps and internet connection. Do you need or want it? The 480hz is another feature difference between the 6030 and the 6500, which may not really be necessary. 240Hz is probably fast enough for most people, it's already double the speed required for 3D.
Lots of people around here prefer plasma for the picture, but they seemed to have stopped making them in 40" range.

Just a personal observation, but to be a regular on this site, you'll need to relax a little and not take everything said so personally. Spiky is one of the more mild ones around here. Most everyone here is a smartass.
