Mitsubishi DLP problem
My WD-60373 was getting dimmer and dimmer. Then a loud pop was heard and now there is no picture. I figure it was the lamp that blew and ordered another one. I thought there was a warning that came on before this happens and was wondering if it could be something else.

Re: Mitsubishi DLP problem
Sounds like a bulb, but you can take the bulb harness out very easily to check. Should just be two screws holding the entire housing into the back. Hopefully you bought a complete housing unit instead of just a bulb, it makes life much easier and only costs a bit more.

Re: Mitsubishi DLP problem
The bulb exploded. I got a new one for 70 bucks and the replacement was easy. Picture is much brighter. It's funny that there was no warning though.

Re: Mitsubishi DLP problem
The warnings only come after a certain amount of hours, basically a timer. There's no way for the machine to know if the lamp is "getting bad". You may not have been high enough, if the Mits does have a warning. (it must) There should be a way to reset the hours since you installed a new lamp. Do it.
