Auto Motion Plus won't turn off! help!
I recently bought a Series 6 55inch Samsung HDTV and for some reason the 'default' setting of the TV is Auto Motion on!
Personally i really hate the effect as i find everything moves unnaturally. it just never looks like 'film' So i definitely turned it OFF but the moment i close the TV and re-open it there is the auto motion turned on even though when i go look in the setting it clearly says OFF!!! so everytime i turn on my new TV i have to turn it ON so i can turn it back OFF. Really annoying. Is this a common thing? Thanks! |

Apparently, you aren't alone. I googled it and got many hits.

Not familiar with this TV but try putting it on "Game" mode. I keep my Sharp TV on that since it seems to want to add a little 'auto-motion' crap on all the other modes even when I have that turned off.

It turns off most of the unnecessary "processing" of the picture- it's called Game mode because some of that processing also causes a delay, and when playing games that means you're seeing what's already happened and can't control the game accurately. I put my TV on it because on all the other modes I noticed some jittering on HD-DVDs, and at least when bringing the TV's menu up when tuned to a broadcast station I noticed some of the dreaded 'soap opera effect' come up, which it doesn't do in game mode.

I agree. Your TV's GAME mode should be able to disable that "feature".

I would take it back since it's new rather than find a workaround for it. Most TV's these days have it on as a defualt but at least they let you turn it off & keep it off.
I'll never understand why most new TV's have this as something you have to turn off instead of on. |
