HD bluray type Standalone Recorder

I have on my DVR lots of music videos that I want to get onto a DVD, a Bluray or something so I can create a "best of" or select the video I want from a menu.

Good audio is key.. I would like to keep the 5.1 and not have to scale down to 2.0 if I use my old Ilo dvd recorder.

so I guess is there any recorder that will accept HDMI and record via that input?

Thanks

No. They've blocked that completely in the specs for both DVD and BD. I don't think there are any consumer BD recorders, and even the pro models don't have HDMI input, they use Firewire. You would need to get your videos into a computer and record them there.

They sell them in Japan...don't know any specs on them though.

I figured someone would have cracked that by now -- oh well guess the only thing to do is a standard DVD recorder

What kind of DVR do you have? If you have a Tivo you can transfer the videos to your computer and create a DVD that way.
