Zenith along with RCA, APEX, Samsung are not very well regarded! They have quality and compatability issues much more so then the Pioneers, Toshibas, Sonys, Panasonics. I would advise you to look to the more main stream manufacturers for you HT.

I have a Toshiba 6200 Progressive Scan player.

Same here. DVD players aren't so expensive that you can't spend a few extra bucks on a good one. I recently picked up a Toshiba 2109 (last year's model) for $175 and couldn't be happier.

I own an RCA RC5215P that I picked up for around $200. Although I haven't owned it for very long, so far it has operated flawlessly. I've played the "industry standard" The Matrix and it worked just fine. I've also played other dual layer discs without any problems. Not sure why nobody likes RCA, maybe some of you could clarify...

I have/had the Toshiba 2109/3109/6109 and the Panasonic C-220 5 disc changer and have never had a problem with any of them. All these players can be bought for under $300!

Well you can't get them ALL for under $300, but each one for under $300 Wanted to clear that up!

In general, I have seen a consistent leaning toward Sony, Toshiba and Pioneer in this forum. Lately there have been issues with Tosh and I heard of a couple with Pioneer. I have a Sony and have been very pleased. Can someone update on the Tosh/Pioneer firmware status?

I've had my RCA DVD for more than a year now and I've run all the high-end dvd titles like Saving Private Ryan, The Matrix, and T2:UE with NO problems. I am also utilizing DTS quality sound with an optical connection.

So I don't wanna hear that RCA is crap!

I also got it for $99. (used, at CC!)
