Samsung UN55D8000YF vs UN55D7000LF
 

I have been considering one of these two for my first HD set but can't seem to find much info on them, can anyone recommend any good comparison sites? Looking at Samsung.com they appear almost identical...

They are scheduled to come out in Q2

Not sure if you've looked here, but this thread has alot of info about the new 2011 "D" series. There are a few charts that compare models and features.

Difference between the new 7000 and 8000 are:

- 8000 has Micro Dimming+ , whereas the 7000 just has micro dimming (the + is extra software)
- 8000 only has a .2" border, wehreas I believe the 7000 is .5"

You may also get some free glasses with the 8000 - but double check on that.

I did see a 7000 a few days ago and it still looks very small. The catch is that the extra .3" is clear plastic so it appears to still be very thin. The clear part disappears to the eye.
