Hi,
I hope I'm in the right forum. I've been having problems like some sound dropouts, but mostly pixelation on my Panasonic DVD-A120. This happens alot on gold discs. I know DVD is not a flawless medium but I have been noticing these kinds of problems again and again.
I have had problems with numerous DVDs including:
North By Northwest (Pixelates during the crop duster scene)
Jacob's Ladder SE
The Omen
Deep Red
The Abyss SE
Universal Horror Classics
Some Criterion Discs like Carnival of Souls
Miramax Colector's Series: Clerks, Good Will Hunting and Shakespeare in Love
Has anyone had similar problems, I have tried returning some of these discs only to get a new one that pixelates in a different place.
The interesting thing is a I have a DVD ROM on my computer (G3 Macintosh) and everytime I have a problem with a disc I pop it into the computer and it plays with no problem. So I tend to think maybe it's my player. Should I start shopping for a new player.
Anyone having similar problems? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Scott
Is it my player? Did I get a lemon?

I don't have the same DVD player so hopefully some one who does can help out. However, it looks like it is probably a problem with you're DVD player as all the discs work fine in you're G3. It may be an issue of fimware. You may need to get the firmware upgraded by either an authorized service center or by Panasonic it self. Like I said hopefully there is some one out there who can shed some more light on the problem for you.
