Does anyone know if there is a dvd player that has smooth scan and plays cd/r its seems like they're all one or the other thanks

Upper end Pioneer models are pretty smooth (626 is pretty good, dv-09 is excellent).

Flagship Sony player does cd-r.

Phillips 825 does CD-R and the scans aren't bad. HOWEVER, the video resolution is poorer. Not as reliable as a Toshiba/Pioneer.

For the moment, to get both,I think you'll need to spend a few more $$$ or chance it w/a Phillips.
