My Boston speakers produce a low amount of static or background noise only when my Sony reciever is on. This static is only noticable if I put my ear up to my speakers. I had this same problem on the computer speakers and once I replaced them the problem was resolved. I asked the salesman at The Goodguys, where I purchased my Boston speakers, and he told me that a certain amount of static in the speakers should be present. Is he lying to me or is this true? I have an extended warranty on my speakers and reciever so if this is a problem The Goodguys will fix or replace them free of charge. Any advice or suggestions?
