Any recommendations for a DVD recorder?
 

I've got a co-worker who's in the market for a DVD recorder. I've got a Pioneer model that I've been super happy with, and I've also got a Polaroid model that has given me nothing but trouble. I recommended that she should look for a Pioneer model, but she can't find a new one anywhere.

So, I got in on the hunt, and...what happened to all the DVD recorders? A quick search today brought up mostly Toshiba models. And that's IT.

Anybody know of a good Toshiba model? Or of a place that I can find older model Pioneers?

Well, used = ebay.

I was very happy with my Panasonic for a few years. Although last time I tried doing anything, it appeared dead. Totally dead. I no longer have much reason for one (direct to computer for recording), so I haven't even checked it out.

But they don't seem to have a current model.

Thanks, Spiky. I think she's going to go with a Toshiba anyway. She found one that got pretty good reviews that will do everything she wants.
