Well, yes and no. I purchased the Sony 650 specifically because besides being one of the best 5 disc DVD changers on the market, it could play my small collection of VCD's. However, if the VCD is a copy of an original, it tends not to play. The same goes for CD-R's. On the other hand, I have been able to play some CD-R's that I have burned myself. It seems like the player will only play prerecorded media.

So let me get this straight, it can play original VCDs but not bootlegs (that's good enough) and it can play some CD-Rs but not all? Which brands of CD-Rs have you had success with?
Thanks! |

What's sup buddy! I believe the silver CD-Rs are the ones that work on Sony players. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif |

The CD-R's that I have had success with are the silver ones. Sony has a good brand of these that sell for about a buck a piece. Also, if this helps, I use the new Easy CD Pro software to burn from my PC. The HP program that came with my burner isn't as simple and I haven't been able to play anything that I have made.
