Is my Blu Ray player (Sony BDP s300) dead?

I keep getting a no disc error not batter what I try to load


and does anyone have a recommendation on a wi fi capable replacement? it will be in the bed room and it's too much trouble to run ethernet cable to it.

The drive is not working. It might be dirty. I would as least clean it or blow the dust out of it before kicking it to curb.

If you had purchased the Costco version, you'd be able to just take it down there and pick up a new BDP-37 and likely get money back.

Cleaning is one possibility, but I've fixed a couple of Sony DVD players with this problem by going into the service menu and running the automatic alignment procedure for the laser pickup. I don't know if that's possible for a Blu-ray player, but you might want to poke around on AVSForum and see whether anyone knows how to access the service menu.

That said, the Panasonic DMP-BD85 is an excellent player with Wi-Fi.

I'm sure you have checked, but make sure you are one the newest firmware....

Costco has had a 90 day return policy on electronics for many years, now.

it won't even load the CD-R with that file

I started with the 300. You'll be happy with the load times of the newer models.

TVs, Computers, and Digital Cameras it is 90 days. But Blu-ray players are still on the forever plan.

I finally replaced the s300 with an S 270
The load times are sooooo much better with this new player

knew you wouldn't regret it. Didn't like my 300 at all. By the time youi got a movie to start you could have watched another movie on your portable
