Okay, I currently have a Toshiba SD 6109c Receiver/DVD player but I am <font color="green">UPGRADING</font> to a Progressive Scan DVD player (SD 5109). I want to keep the 6109 as my receiver (for now). Both have Digital Optical ports so is this (toslink) what I should use to hook them up? Or is Digital Coaxial or even 75 ohm video cable gonna do the trick via the digital coaxial input? I just want to hear the good old DD 5.1 and DTS that I am accustomed to. Also for those of you with 5109's what do I set it to: "PCM/Bitstream out?" Thanks in advance.

As far as the connection I have heard that digital coax and digital optical are the same WRT performance. If you go with coax make sure it is rated at 75ohms. Any standard audio or video coax will do. It can be but does not have to be gold plated. I use digital coax right now and it works great.
