I got the 575x two days ago. For some reason the low end sound is not quite as deep as my 6 yr old technics pro logic receiver. No change in the speakers???? ANyone experience this or know if there are settings to increase bass (besides the bass knob on the front).
I also have a pioneer 302 dvd player. the 575x and the 302 both have hookups for optical and coax. I just have it hooked up through rca's now. What kind of sound increased performance can I get out of either coax or optical?
Also I need a subwoofer. A relatively inexpensive, small in size would be great. Any advice??

First of all, without going through either the digital coax or the optical, you won't get the DD or DTS bitstreams, just vanilla 2 channel matrixed Dolby Surround. Before I got my Infinity BU-120, I was getting pretty good bass out of my Music1's. Much better sound than my previous receiver which was an Onkyo 313pro Prologic receiver. They had about the same amount of power and when I had the DVD connected to the old one it was through the RCA's. Since I now had a digital IN available, I connected the DVD player with a coax and HOT DAMN!!! The sound was much cleaner and fuller. I added the sub cause I got a great deal on it. Just played my first DTS DVDs yesterday and was again impressed. The one thing about the Onkyo is they have a very good flat response. The have solid power over the full spectrum.
May want to try setting up with Video Essentials or Avia.

Thanks DNMonty. I will search for a coax this weekend. Would radio shack coax be just as good as one from the local audio store or best buy/circuit city?
Also, what is Video Essentials or Avia? Sorry, but I'm new to this.
Thanks

I would just make sure the cable is designed for coaxial digital. Should be marked as 75 ohms. I have a audioquest cable and it work great. All of my other cables are Monster Cable but I couldn't bring myself to pay $40 for one stinkin' wire.
