I was wondering because they sell them at Amazon and i can use my Jaboom money there. I went to audioreview and also read the 2 reviews at Amazon, but i want the real professional opinion of the highly respected members of the DVD Talk Home Theater Forum. Hopefully my ass kissing will help motivate you. Thanks very much in advance for all of the imput.

that was some nice @ss kissing... http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/wink.gif

You might check out the reviews at http://www.audioreview.com to get more detail.
I've never listened to them myself.

P.S. I glanced through the reviews. Most of them looked pretty high. Maybe there's a dealer in your area? You could go listen to them, then buy them from amazon. (assuming you like what you hear, that is. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif )

If you're thinking about Wharfedale speakers, I can highly recommend them. I have 4 Sapphire 87's all around and a Sapphire Centre Channel. I was even going to get the Topaz subwoofer, but got a great deal on a Klipsch KSW-12 that I couldn't pass up. I was also going to get the Sapphire 89's for my fronts, but I couldn't get the right price for them and settled for the 87's. I've very rarely heard anything bad about the Sapphire line, and most of the other products Wharfedale makes get rave reviews too. The company that distributes them in the US, www.iagamerica.com, is also really great to deal with if you have any problems. I needed a replacement grill for one of my speakers and they sent it out to me no charge.

I see that amazon is only carrying the Emerald line, which is supposedly better than my Sapphires, so I think you'd really like them... They look pretty pricey, though. I paid around $115 each for my Sapphires and $50 for the centre speaker (all brand new) from www.ubid.com. I don't think I've ever seen the Emerald line carried at ubid, but you never know. One word of caution about ubid though: Their shipping charges *suck*, big-time! $40 for *each* speaker. Yuck! http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/frown.gif

My $.02

I've heard some good things about their bookshelf speakers. However, at full MSRP, Amazon is never going to convince me to buy them to check em out. Seems like it's a good line to get at a closeout, as you can do better for the same price. But if it's a gc, then they are more appealing. Certainly has to be the best speaker brand they carry. Too bad they don't carry B&W anymore. I got my center channel with GCs last x-mas.

I have a pair of Diamond VI bookshelfs and they have impressed me to no end for such small speakers. Nice clean sound and some nice construction all around. At the time they severely outclassed anything in the price range, so I'd say they generally represent good value for the money. The reviews at audioreview seemed fairly positive last I recall as well. Solid speakers, I wish I'd have bought another pair for rears http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/frown.gif
