Hi, I'm interested in getting an integrated home theater system for my dorm room and then later on moving it to an apartment (probably not too big, so immense power isn't necessary). So far the models that have caught my attention were as the title said the:
Pioneer HTZ-55DV (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Home_2000/htz-55dv.htm)
Sony DAV-S300 (http://www.sel.sony.com/SEL/consumer/ss5/home/homeentertainment/dvdsolutions/dav-s300.shtml)
Panasonic SC-HT80 (http://www.prodcat.panasonic.com/shop/product.asp?sku=SC-HT80)

I put all the URLs out there because as I am new to this, all the specs are Greek to me... so based on these, or perhaps actual experience with them, what would you recommend? I found the Pioneer for $620 from 'The Camera Club' (anyone had experience with them?) online via CNET shopper and that is the model I'm leaning towards as it's the only one that can actually play CD-R's.... is Pioneer a safebet (will it be reliable)? I'm not requiring audiophile sound, I just want something decent for movies and music, compact (and stylish is a plus too... all these look really slick), and most of all reliability (I don't want it breaking down a few years later.. I had a horrible experience with a AIWA Shelf system before)... I assume all can play VCD's (I see it nowhere in the Pioneer's specs) as I have a lot of MPEGs on my comp that I would like to convert to VCD's (once again a reason to pick the Pioneer since Sony and Panasonic seem to not like CD-R's).... I've found reviews of the Sony and Panasonic on the web , but I can't come up with anything for the Pioneer... is it just too new? Or is Pioneer not respected in the DVD marketplace, etc. Let me know your opinions, especially if you have personal experience with the Pioneer as I haven't found any reviews/etc.... reply to forum/email whatever you like, I will check both.

Thanks!!!
