So, I was sitting here watching Leon when all of the sudden the movie started skipping and jerking, and then just locked up. I then took the disk out (with the tray taking an extremely long time to open) and tried another couple movies that would not even load up. The screen just kept saying "loading."

Anybody ever experience something like this? Is it a sign of my player going bad? Please say it ain't so!

BTW...This is a Toshiba 3109 (the one with dual-disc capability).

Any help appreciated.

Bo.

Your player is not inside a cabinet...is it??? Sounds like something may be wrong with your player...Toshiba dvd players have been experiencing a lot of firmware problems....this could be it or your player could just be on the fritz. How old is your player?

I got the player a little over a year ago (just outside of warranty http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/frown.gif ).

I turned it off and let it sit for a while. I then tried about half an hour later and it was working fine, guess it was heat after all. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

If it is heat...you may want to make sure your player is outside of any cabinet for proper ventilation...
