JVC RX-7000V RECEIVER: ANY THOUGHTS?
#1
I will be picking one of these up on Wednesday and just wanted to see if anyone has one and what their thoughts were on it. Price and the DD/DTS capibility drew me in. I'm getting a good deal on it. I have a pro-logic Awia, but I'm ready for an upgrade. I have a Toshiba 1200 DVD player, which will pass both signals anyways, and a KLH 5 speaker w/ sub setup. 100 watts x channel. This receiver also offers same wattage.

I was looking at this receiver also, but it seems JVC units have a problem with volume capability. Most have said that even with their highest end unit (RX-1028V) you have to turn the volume past 1/3 to get reasonable HT sound. Also some of their models suffer from an annoying hissing sounds from the speakers in your turn them up to half way.
Depending on where you are picking it up and the price, I'd lean more toward the Pioneer 509s. It is usually priced identically to the 7000 and has better power/features. But then again, this might not be a possiblity if you are buying local. I'm sure whatever you choose you will be happy with it.
