I just bought the new Sony KV27FS16. When I turn on the sleep timer at night, while the TV goes off, approximately 4-5 hours later it will turn itself back on.

We seem to have traced the problem back to the sleep timer. No problems with the remotes, etc.

Anyone else experience this or have any suggestions??

Try to press the sleep timer on the remote control until it reaches "0"

I'm not sure what you mean here. The sleep timer works OK... If I set it for 15 minutes, the TV does go off. The problem is, it seems like once I have used the sleep timer about 4-5 hours later the TV will turn itself back on spontaneously.

I don't have a Sony, but on my TV the "off timer" is tied to an "on" timer, where you can set the TV to turn on like an alarm clock. You can check and see if there is an alarm option on your TV and make sure it is not activated. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion DigIt. We had already checked that out and none of the on timers were set.

I did however get a resolution. Sony is aware of this 'feature' and I have to get a minor adjustment made to the TV. So, for those of you who own a Wega, you may want to check out if your TV does this and get it serviced while it is covered under warranty.

tavarua88 - The authorized service dealer is coming to my house to do the adjustment, so I'm guessing you won't have to carry it anywhere. ;o)

More info - Apparently this is only a problem with models that have FS in the model number. I believe these are the models with picture in picture.
