What a coincidence. I just ordered my DB-940 from them today as well. It's hard to pass up for $400 if you're in need of a receiver and have a limited budget.
Now if i could just find a good deal on a subwoofer, I'd be all set.

wOO hOOO!!!! Sound City is the Bomb!!! I orderd my new sony DB940 yesterday at 3:30PM and I went to the loading dock today at 10:45 a.m. to tell the receiver I was expecting a personal package and he said "Do you mean this one?"
Paid $412 with insurance and free shipping, you have to ask about free shiping as it is supposed to apply to web site gear only but this was a bargin for me! Now I gota go home sick!!

Sound City is a great mail order house. They probably have the best prices on Sony that are available. Try calling Joe at Ext. 708. He has always treated me well. Also, you should not be afraid to ask for better prices than they post on their internet site.

Besides giving me the best price on my Sony DB-940 and Acoustic Research Sub, they made sure that my order got processed after there was some confusion with my Credit Card company (who apparently had the wrong address on file). Rich from Soundcity left multiple messages updating the situation and when it was finally resolved left me another voicemail to say that everything worked out and I would receive my package in 3-4 business days. They price match, they're extremely friendly and helpful and if the 3-4 days holds up, extremely fast. I am now a loyal Soundcity shopper.
