I'm getting a Toshiba CZ32V51 32" TV which is 27 5/16" high and my center channel is 5 1/2" high, a total of 32 13/16". The only problem is my TV cabinet's opening is only 32 1/2", 5/16" too short. SOOO, I will be forced to move the center channel up about another 8" which would make it 58 1/2" high. It seems to me that is too high to create a good sound field?

The only other place I can put the center would be under the tv on the shelf below, which would be around around 24" high.

Opinions?

Thanks,
Joe

Out of the two choices, go for putting it below the TV.

Try to keep the center channel within 24" of the mains height wise. Otherwise, use the closest height possible.
