Okay, this is stretching the definition of "DVD bargains," but if you consider that the Apex was selling on eBay for $300+ (before they pulled it), I suppose it fits. That said -

No, it isn't too good to be true. If the description is accurate, I'd say it's a rebadged Apex 600a. If not piece for piece, it's almost certainly using the same core. Does it have the secret menu? Maybe...

I've heard that certain branching discs give the 600A fits (Stuart Little & Abyss are common ones). Also, I personally noticed some voice synch anomolies with TWINE, but really not too bad, on my 600A.

BTW - if it has the secret menu, it's a must-have if you run your DVD through your VCR. My JVC 3600 has fits with macrovision, even if it's just the SVHS pass through. The 600A corrects this problem like a champ.
