Firmware upgrade fixed my ID4 problem!!!

I have a Toshiba 3108 that b4 ID4 had never had a problem playing any DVD ( I have 85 now ).
ID4 would not even load. All I would get was "Please Check Disk".
So, I found a near by (30 miles) Toshiba Service Center from Toshiba's web site and had my firmware upgraded from version 1.01 to version 3.300 R1.
Now ID4 plays just fine!
The upgrade cost me $50.

That is a shame that Toshiba had you pay to upgrade a player's firmware....$50.00??? According to Toshiba, there is nothing wrong with their dvd players.....
This should have been a free upgrade for you even if your player was not under warranty...this is a problem with the technology that Toshiba put out onto the market....not a matter of wear and tear!!!! I certainly will not purchase Toshiba in the future if this is any example of how they treat their customer base!!!!
