Wiring power outlets for flat screen TV- need help
So I had no expectations to have a new TV so soon but landed a new 46” and wife wants to hang it on the wall. I would like to place an outlet behind the TV and than one at the lower part of the wall that I can then run a cord from the surge protector over to, to feed power up to the TV. So basically the setup would be acting like an in-wall extension cord (using Romex wire in-wall) to power the TV.
I was going to purchase two of the blue old-work single gang boxes at the hardware store last night and noticed they do not have knockouts for conduit to hook into. Guess my thought is that I should be running the wire between the two outlets inside flexible conduit for safety reasons, but maybe not? Would very much appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if I would run into any issues with say a home inspection or insurance or the such since it would be running basically as a extension cord of sorts and not the "normal" hard wired outlets.

Supposedly it is against code to run a regular power cord through a wall without a conduit. I ended up just running the cord instead of a new outlet. It's a brand new cord and I built the wall so I knew what was behind it.

NEVER place wire with insulation in conduit. This could lead to the wire running hot can causing a fire. If you don't know what you are doing consult a professional. You may have a nice TV for a while, that is until your house burns down.
