I'm still a newbie and I've been looking at the kenwood (possibly in the HTB-503)since I'm on a small budget and I like what I know about it, but how does it compare to the Sherwood. Both can be purchased for about 300 (kenwood for less if you look hard) so which do you recommend?

KENWOOD KENWOOD KENWOOD!
Ive been researching the VR-407 for a while now (the reciever in the 503), it looks like a great deal. Except when i demoed the whoile 503 version, the speakers seemed very bright, i had to stand quite far away to get a tolerable level (but i was standing 2 feet away ALL 5 SPEAKERS at the time, i would expect at least 5 feet when watching at home, so thats okay), i think they might have had their trebel way up too high.... well, thats my Beef... or Two Cents, or whatever....
