Agreed. I don't understand the purpose of this thread without a poll.

And my answer is yes.

Wow! I never thought there might actually be a purpose to this thread. That's something to think about.

To force discussion, rather than allowing people to click a button and surf away.

No, just not that interested.

If discussion was the goal, I think a question requiring more than a yes or no answer would have been asked. Something like, "What Blu-ray player do you own and why? If not, why don't you?"

As it is, the OP asked a yes or no question and has gotten barely more information than poll options would have given.

Nope. It's pointless without an HD TV. Which I don't have yet.

Yes, but don't watch many blu-rays anymore, once Netflix upped their price.

Not yet, but hope to have the Oppo by the first of November.
Looking forward to it. Already have three BD movies.

Re: Do you own a Blu-Ray Player?

I have a blu ray player but i'd have to say i barely use it considering i only buy dvd's and i like to watch them on my xbox 360. But eventually when prices go down for blu ray I will start buying more. I just can't bring myself to spend 24.99 on a movie i already have or one i can get for 5 bucks.

Re: Do you own a Blu-Ray Player?

Check your local pawn shops for BD movies. Some shops are getting a pretty good selection. They sell them fairly cheap. They usually have a 30 day exchange warranty. So what if they're used, as long as they play good...........

Re: Do you own a Blu-Ray Player?

Been looking to get one to go with the new house and family room but there are too many other things to buy right now. However, I have a Panny plasma (720p), will a BD player look good on a 720p tv or should i just wait until I get a 1080p model in a few years?

ps. I sit about 10 feet away from the tv.
