Issues with cable box...
The hits keep on coming with this theater setup...
I replaced a wall jack for my cable, since it was causing problems previously (the old owners of the house did not set it up correctly). I got all that sorted out and tried out the box yesterday and it is not working correctly. However, I am not sure if it is with the setup or a cable. I have it setup this way on a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250HD: Coax cable from the wall to the box HDMI cable from the box to the TV Initially that didn't work, so I hooked up an additional coax cable and I got an incredibly shitty picture (IE not HD). My question is, do I need the second coax cable or can I go with my initial setup? If so, then my problem is probably with the HDMI cable. |

You may need to check with the cable company regarding the box.
I helped a friend with his cable setup and by default the box was not setup to use the hdmi port. I had to go into the menus to enable it. Nice, since he was being charged for hd content. |

Where is the 2nd coax? You certainly don't want to use that from the box to the TV.

So it appears that my cable company will need to set my box to use HDMI...or is that something I can do? |

Sounds like something you should be able to do. Fraid I'm not too familiar with cable boxes, though.
btw, the reason you don't want to use coax there is because the best picture it can manage in that situation is comparable to bad VHS. Like crappy, beat-up, overused tapes. |

I spoke with the cable company this morning and I do need a tech. I have it scheduled tomorrow from 2-5 so that should give me plenty of time before football to get this sorted out.
