I just purchased a rear projection TV and I have sceduled a guy to come out and install one of those protective screens. Is this extra protection nessesary? Does it help the picture quality or detract from it? Please help...
One note: I do have a 16 month old running around... This is the big reason I am considering one... The one thing that keeps coming to my mind is if they were nessesary, wouldn't the manufaturer build it in??? Mike |
Get the protective screen. It is well worth the extra money.I did not do it on my first one and lived to regret it. The screen was scratched. My new Hitachi 61 inch tv came with one. And it already has saved my from damges. Any hand prints or such are easily wipped away. Yes it does make a great deal of difference in the picture quality. You usally find them included on the higher priced models. I hope this information helps you. Good Luck !!!

YOU NEED THIS SCREEN!!!! Your little one will place his/her hand right through the screen when they start pounding on it....if I did not have one my little ones would have cost me a fortune. It also adds to the picture..does not take away from it!!!! http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

The screen is a must! I do not have any kids so protection was not a big factor, but the contrast, OUTSTANDING!! It makes my 53" Sony look like a picture tube!!
I agree, mfg's should make the scrren standard, but I guess cutting corners to lower prices was their main concern? <center>[b][i] ------------------ Now Playing |
