I finally got a good speaker system but I dont have a sub woofer yet.

Now, gimme the truth, do I really need a subwoofer?

And if I do get one, can anyone recommend me any?

YES It makes a big difference. I don't know what kind is best, but I have an Infinity, 200W BU-120. It shakes the house.
It was in the $300+ range, but I paid alot less using some discounts that were around last year.

Go with Topgun94's advice. It makes a world of difference when you're watching a source in 5.1. I mean, it is decoded in 5.1, not 5.0, so you would not be getting the ideal, ultimate experience without the sub.

Imagine the earth shattering rumbles you heard in the theater. Now imagine watching the same scene through your tv speakers.

A good sub will make a world of difference.
