If and only if your receiver has 5.1 analog inputs. Which is the same as being DD or 5.1 ready.

stevevt is correct. If your pro-logic receiver has the 6 inputs...all you have to do is connect the 6 RCA audio wires coming from your receiver to the 6 audio channels inputs on the back of the 2200.

thanks guys. checked the connections and looks like i won't be enjoying dd until i get myself a new receiver. any ideas on a cheap one that doesn't sound too cheap. like $200 or so.

if you can go a little higher in price, i would recommend the Onkyo TX-DS575. It has DD5.1 and DTS decoders and has plenty of power to drive most home theatre speakers.
