I am interesting in setting up a home theatre system with my new 32" TV and Toshiba SD-3109 DVD player.
I saw the sony line of DE 835, 935 DB 830, 930 What is the difference and what will suffice. Is there that much difference in the 900 series over the 800 series to justify cost? Also what is the difference in DB vs DE lineup......will it sound the same?? Thanks! Bill |
Stick with the DB line from Sony. Their DE line is plagued with quality problems.
The DB line has ES (Sony's higher end model line) guts for the amp section, and give a lot of bang for the buck. If you have need for one more AV input, and secondary audio output (send analog input sources to another room's receiver input), just a little more power (neglible) and a funky 2-way remote control, then get the DB930, otherwise, you can probably get away with the DB830. Try reading the reviews of the DB930 (very good reviews) on www.audioreview.com (also check the DE935 for so-so rating/reviews). Yes, I own a Sony DB930. ------------------ PatCave ;HT Pix ;Pat's DVDs |

Anyone else remember that Tom Hanks skit on SNL in the 80s? -S |
Thanks.....so you would stay away from the DE line? Are the features the same on the 2 models 930 vs 935?? and the only difference is in the circuitry?

Stay with Sony ES. The extra you pay is well worth it. Also you may wnat to try www.liquidprice.com and see if you can get it there. I paid $600.00 w/ 2-day fedex for my sony 555ES. I found that to be a great deal.
