My first Monoprice switcher was an early 5x model. It did not work with later HDMI devices. Now I have a 2nd or 3rd gen 4x model that works great for all my current stuff. But they have had some issues with various models. HDMI is a big pain for everybody.
Surprising about the HDMI cables. I'm not thrilled with their analog stuff, but the HDMI has been the highest quality I've seen.
