I have a pretty old Sony rear projection TV. The red light seems to be misaligned and it shifts down from the other two colors, blue and green. I tried using the V/H Line Test on the TV but the red line doesn't seem to be straight, it concaves downward toward the right side. How can I fix this? Please help.

It is call convergence. You need to converge all three CRTs to line up straight. There is likely user convergence setting in the TVs user menu. This may be electronic or manual. Go through all the user menus you can find and see if it is there. It should be there, but may not be, because all projections sets loss their convergence over time and need to be realigned.

You may also want to get in the service menus to do a better job. You'll first need to get the service codes for your set. I don't have the codes, but a long search of the net should reveal the codes. Just be careful in there and write down anything to change before you change it.

There also might be problems with your red gun -- either misaligned or out of focus. Go ahead and open her up and take a look. Also us the the opportunity to clean the inside.
