So I bought a VSX-94TXH Pioneer Elite receiver today
 

I couldn't pass it up when I saw it at Best Buy's Magnolia section today. An open box buy as it was a demo model, but in absolutely pristine condition. $618 out the door. Haven't set it up with my Sonus speakers yet, but just wanted to get an idea if there's anything I should know about this receiver. All I've found online so far is to check the firmware and see about having it updated. I haven't noticed any threads anywhere where there is a mention of any fatal flaw in this receiver. Is there anything I should be aware of or to look or test for?

I have the VSX-74txvi and it is rock solid. I suggest you run though the speaker setup and assign all the sources with names. You will enjoy the Pioneer at that price. The one thing I really dislike about the Pioneer is the user interface. Reminds me of the DOS days the way it looks and feels. There is a good review on your receiver here:

I'm using the 94 with an older projector (Panasonic AE-500U 720p) and I have to switch between EDID settings when hitting the setup button. Weird.

Also, it doesn't say in the manual, but hitting V Parameter or A Parameter doesn't show an OSD at all? In the manual, they show the OSD screens for SETUP, but none for the Parameter ones.

I just started a thread asking if the Newer Pio receivers have an AC outlet on the back of them. Do you see one on your new Elite?
