qam tuner not getting HD with comcast/samsung tv
 

i have a samsung dlp with a built in qam tuner and for some reason it doesnt get HD channels anymore. i used to get them but i hadnt had the qam in use for awhile. today i tried scanning to get the channels and all i get is SD. i might have something set wrong..who knows. what i am doing is.....

split cable... 1 goes to dvr 1 to cable input on the back of the tv (there is also an antenna connector)
auto program>cable>analog set to std>digital set to std>start

all i am getting is 34 channels. did comcast cut it off? am i doing something wrong? its been awhile since i did it the first time and it took me 20 tries to get it then since i had no idea what i was doing. i have no idea how i got it to work before.

If they cut it off, that is a local question and should be easy to research and eliminate from the list of possible issues. There is a Chicago thread at AVS that you could check.

i checked and it looks like qam is still available in chicago.

Around here, Comcast is cutting off all cable stations above around 34. In order to get the higher stations you have to get a free tuner from them.
