I have a Panasonic A100...is there a rule on the board about asking how to make regional coding 'go away'?
If so, sorry I mentioned it. |
Region coding is a construct of the DVD industry and not a "law".
As such, there's nothing wrong with you modifying your player to make it region free (it might void your warranty though). So, no, I don't believe there's anything in the forum rules that would make region code modification out of bounds. You might want to do a search on this forum as I believe it's been discussed before. ------------------ -David Other forum |
I had the A110 and to play PAL discs an upgrade to the chips was required for the extra information in the PAL picture. I'm glad I never had the conversion done because a few months later the old A110 showed me its "No disc" message and that was that.

Hmmm...mine plays the PAL VCDS...odd.
But, that 'No Disc' bit is coming up more everyday... So, it WAS Apex or Raite until I heard about all sorts of problems... As for warranties, I buy them $200 and under..that way if they go...I can buy a brand new one for the price of repair plus roughly $80. I'll do a search on modifying the player. (Regional coding is weak...) |
