Make sure you factor in the cost of an extended warranty. Panny's have a seemingly higher number of reported failures. Do a search on this site - lot's of reports of death after warranty. This thread is just a few weeks old:

In that post, Blade posts a website dedicated to panasonic problems:
Panasonic DVD Players
Mostly 110's and 310's in those threads. Yes, the 320 is newer, but do you really want to chance it?

the x2x series is actually the best - panasonic has taken care of all the bugs in the earlier series - if ya ask me they have the best reliability in every other productline - they know they goofed on 110s - so they made sure that 320s are excellent! my line of thinking!

They know they goofed? Usually, they won't even admit they have a problem. Getting DVD repair has not been easy. READ the posts.
As far as having the best reliability in every other line , personally speaking, I've had a Panasonic VCR,receiver and walkman. All them have died. (The VCR died right after warranty.) My Toshiba VCR is 5 years old. My Sony TV is 4. My Sony walkman is 3. All still going strong. The panny dvd player(A120) that I sold, after coming to my senses, is
showing problems w/lip-synching. The buyer is
giving me a hard time, as he probably should.
If the x2x series has the same crappy 90 day
warranty or even 6 months, GET AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. Or better, get products known to last. The x2x haven't been out long enough to prove their reliability. At least Pioneers and Toshibas have been out there for year. I'd still rather go w/a company that got it right the first time than one that is still trying to figure out what to do.
Your money - your risk. If it works out, great. If it doesn't, start a new thread about Panny's x2x's.
