I've just moved into a new home and I'll be setting up my home theater shortly. The room setup is quite different than my old house, so my question is....
What gauge speaker wire for fronts and center (sitting less than 10 ft from the receiver)?
What gauge speaker wire for rears (wire run most likely to be 20-25ft)?
My sub will also be sitting opposite the room from the receiver. Is a 20-25ft rca jack ok?
Any input would be great.
Thanks in advance!

Most speaker manufacturers recommend that you use at least 16 gauge wire on runs 25 feet or less. I tend to want a bit more thicker wire and usually go for 14 or 12 gauge (the smaller the gauge, the the thicker the wire) on the main/center speakers. 16 gauge is probably good enough for surrounds.
As for the sub, what is the alternative .
