Any recommendation as to what subwolfer is better between the Klipsch KSW12 or a Velodyne CT100? Also any recommendation as to low price sites for either?

I'm looking at these subs as well. You should look over at the HomeTheater Forum for a guy named Chris who is organizing a group purchase on the Velodynes. He's got some good prices.

What do you mean by HomeTheater formum? The forum that this thread is in is called the DVD & Home Theater Hardware. Or is the forum you are referring to, somewhere else?

I have the ksw 8. Have had it for approx. 5 yrs. At best, it is ok. It gets really boomy at higher volumes. Of course one problem, which you won't have, is that the speaker is too small.

There is another Web site called hometheaterforum.com. Great site for in depth discussions on equipment. This may of been to what Peter O was refering.

Is that guy still organizing group purchases of Velodyne subs "very soon"? He was doing that over 3 months ago when I was researching Velodyne subs. Sounds really suspicious, I think I would steer very clear of that guy.

ride,
I mean hometheaterforum.com. CDH was right. It is a good site to get information from.

myhabbit,
This guy has been organizing it for a while but the group purchase doesn't have to happen all at once. The purchase is still good and should be for a while. I think that means that you can get it now. I have to call him and talk to him about it.

Originally was going to get the KSW-12 til I heard the Velodyne CT-120. They are both great subs. Probably going to add the Velodyne to some NHT front/center/rear witha Marantz SR-8000 or 7000 after demoing a LOT of stuff.

Actually on my way out to negotiate.
