Advice on getting a new HDTV

I am currently shopping around for the best size in the HDTV that I want. I think I know I am going with a Sony Brand and I basically will be using the TV to play games on the Wii, on my PS3 and mainly to be watching movies with blu-ray and standard DVD but the whole purpose of getting the HDTV is mainly for the blu-ray and I heard the quality is great. I just need to know what is the best size to get for a small room. I think I can go up to 40ish but not really sure. I want to make it look like a semi theatre room. I don't own a lot of movies now. but i will be collecting more and more in the next months. I have never bought a TV no longer than 32' but that was with standard tv. Should I upgrade and what is the best size for someone in my case?

Define "small room," and how far your main seating area will be from the TV.

If you can only go in the 40" size range then the choice is easy...

Panasonic 42" plasma. They are down to less then $700 if you look around!

If you want more of a theater experience, then go with the

Panasonic 50" plasma. They are down to an unbelievable $900 with just a little looking.

If you want even more of a theater experience then go with a

Front projector and make your own 90-100" screen. You can get one for a grand or less.

I saw you mention the Sony brand, but meh, why? They make some nice high end sets, but there are a lot better values out there, IMO. But yes, their high end stuff is nice if you want to spend the money.
