Choosing between Samsung 550 or Sony S4100
 

After shopping around for awhile, myself and my girlfriend are trying to choose between these two HDTVs. Both are equally priced and both look good in the stores. We'll be using it mainly for Bluray movies played from a Panasonic 35k player. She likes her video games and basketball, but it'll mainly be for the movies. Our price range is $1,000 to $1,200. These are equal in our eyes but if anyone has any personal experience or customer service horror stories from either company I'd love to hear it to help make up my mind.

I have a Samsung PN50A450 which I believe is similar to the model you are referring to, only as a 720p set. I think it looks amazing and I've heard great things about the next step up - the 550 - so that would probably be my recommendation to you. Just make sure that once you get it you break it in and adjust the settings on your TV to calibrate the picture. Look up more info on AVS Forums for those details.
