You dont have Permission to record

Ok I just got a DVD recorder and im watching WWE 24/7 and I try to record some thing and it says you dont have permission(or something along those lines) the thing is I recorded around 3 other things on that channel and there was no problem

My question is,Is it because I have a SONY DVD Recorder and there bad when it comes to letting you do it

Any Suggetions?

the best one I got was from my mom she said to record it on VHS then DUB it to DVD But thats a hassle and I got the DVD recorder so I wouldnt have to use VHS

Well, there's the broadcast flag, but we don't know whether WWE enforces it, or whether your player abides by it (given that it's Sony, we can assume it does, however).

Drew Bledsoe 09-19-08 02:54 PM

Yeah, Sony is the last product you want when it comes to being able to "record" something. Whether audio or video.

Drew Bledsoe 09-22-08 11:42 PM

What Player do you think I should get then?

Drew Bledsoe 09-23-08 10:16 PM

Get a Panasonic. I've had 3 with no problems. Only thing you can't record are copyprotected tapes and dvds.

Lite-On makes stuff that's extremely user friendly when it comes to doing what you want without restrictions. At most you have to download updated firmware, burn it to a CD and pop it in.

Here's the one I have and extremely recommend it or a similar one they make

Edit: They also use standard DVD burners and IDE hard drives, so it's easy to upgrade or replace parts.

Good luck with the Panasonic. The one I had before seemed to be as restrictive as what the Sony seemed to be. If you go to their site, you can read the manual of the one you want to find out if you'll run into the same problems.

I didnt get it yet

But So far with the Sony Ive been unable to Burn A movie from IO on Demand(And Ive got a feeling that the Panasonic will do the same thing as the Sony)Im sure IO doesnt want people burning movies

And Ive only been denied burning One Program on WWE 24/7
So im gonna wait till Tuesday when I get a batch of New programs from that station and see what they let me burn
