What's causing all this? (visual problems)
It used to be that my dvd player (or is the tv?) needed a few minutes to warm up until it got the crisp clear image. But now it never gets to that image. Observe:
This is upon turning it on: http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...ollectiona.jpg The rest go by slowly over about 10 minutes I'd guess: http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...lection169.jpg Notice how the lines are "rotating" in a clockwise fashion. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...lection173.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...lection174.jpg And, finally, it settles at this point (it used to rotate until it was horizontal and at that point, the image was nice and clear): http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/g...lection162.jpg Any suggestions for solutions would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, this problem is exclusive to dvds. The cable image is just fine. Thanks! |
What sort of Television is it? LCD? CRT? Plasma?
It could be the input on the TV, the video cables or the DVD player output. You should check your video cable connections. Perhaps try swapping cables. Borrow another DVD player and plug it in, see if the same effects occur. |
I see a new DVD player in your future.
*please pay the receptionist on your way out* |

Upon looking closely at the tv, it's a Samsung HDTV Progressive, and it also has "DCD" and "DLP" on it, too. Does that help? If nothing else, this nudges me one step closer to picking up one of them fangled projectors (what with a room measuring like 25' x 20' or so)! Naitram: no new dvd player. I demand a refund! Oh wait...didn't pay yet. Laff... |
Can you try a different input on the TV? Seems you've narrowed the problem to this point.

I THINK the input is going through the receiver. I have to double check this. But you think if I were to try just a direct feed into the tv and bypass the receiver might further narrow this in?
|
You still haven't told us what kind of connection you're using. Component, HDMI, S-video, what?
|
OH...sorry....component.
But does it matter that there's like a multitude of wiring going on? Cause there's like wiring from dvd player to receiver to tv. |
