Plasma TV makes odd (plastic) sounds

I have a 50" Panasonic Plasma TV I purchase last year, and it is on it's stand (not wall mounted). It makes occasional sounds like when you bend a piece of plastic and it snaps or creeks. Not sure if I'm even explaining it correctly.

It does this often after use (and sometimes when being used).

Everything is secure there are no obvious problems with it's stand and the TV works fine. But the sounds are so strange it worries me.

Anyone hear of or have experience with this happening?

Yep, mine does it as well. It's the plastic housing interacting with the expanding plasma panel when it warms up. Usually, you'll only notice this in the winter months because in warmer months, the plastic and panel are already at a temp which doesn't have such an extreme expansion.

I have heard you can get a relatively cheap accessory which prevents this sound from happening, but never investigated further. Probably on AVS I think.

Check over at AVS, they have an entire thread for this. Basically if you contact Panasonic they will send a technician to install a felt kit to muffle the noise.

Ok Good to know it happens to others and my TV isn't going to just kick the bucket suddenly. It really doesn't bother me much if I know what it is.
