new cables with 'ferrite cores' or not?

looking to get a DVI-HDMI cable for my computer and monoprice shows some with ferrite cores--at nearly half the price as ones without. Shouldnt they be better with the (static reducing?) cores than without?

The ones with ferrite beads are 28 gauge not 24 gauge. If you are going less than 20 feet or so, the wire gauge should not make a difference to you. If you are going from computer to monitor, it is unlikely you will see any difference between the cables.

So get the cheaper cable.

Yeah a 6ft cable should be fine. Thanks!
