Streaming online video to my Plasma
Is there any device I can use to stream, say, Netflix streamed movies to my Panasonic Plasma? I have a Panny that I can install cards into, maybe there's some sort of wireless card I can plug into for web stuff? I've read people talking about PS3's being able to do something like this. I don't have one but with the Blu-Ray developments, I'm considering one. If I could use it to view Netflix as well, that would be pretty cool.
What's the scoop? |
Couldn't you stream via DVI cable from your PC to your TV?
|
Yeah, the easiest would be simply plugging in your PC. AppleTV is designed precisely for this, too. But that and the PS3 both have some limitations.

Well, I've always had problems running video from my laptop to my tv. I get my desktop to show up on the tv and the video player window will show up on my tv, but I just get a black box where the video should be playing.
Plus there are sound issues doing it that way as well. I guess I could run sound from my headphone port, but there's till the issue of video not transferring correctly. |
You will still potentially have video compatibility issues with a streaming device. So that's something to fix, not to let stop you. The 2 mentioned are probably your main choices at this time for wireless.
