Does Anyone Own a Philips DVP3960 DVD player??

I got this model last weekend as my other Philips player was crapping out, and even hanging on brand new store bought dvds.

I needed a Divx player and this was cheap at Walmart. No brainer, right? Well, I am stratching my head as to why in the world they would design the player to automatically shut down if you leave the player idle for 15 minutes. If I pause my movie or hit stop, and don't make it back in 15 minutes, I have to load the dvd from the beginning, and try to find where I left off.

This is just killing me, and surely there is some way to get around this problem. Can anyone help?>

According to the manual, there is a sleep mode setting that can be adjusted to automatically turn off the player at different times at 15-minute intervals up to an hour, or it can be disabled.

I tried setting the sleep mode to off, but unfortnately, the unit still powers off after 5 minutes!! I read some reviews and several ppl complained about this problem as well.

If you press play while the disc is loading when you turn it on, it will start where it left off.
