Connecting an Onkyo TS XR605

Greetings and salutations, fellow HD enthusiasts. Inasmuch as my 605 should arrive via Crutchfield tomorrow afternoon, your thoughts and opinions on the following would be appreciated:

THE GEAR
-Onkyo 605
-50" Sony SXRD (1080i input)
-Denon 1920 upconverting DVD player
-Scientific Atlanta 8300 cable DVR
-Xbox 360
-Playstation 3
-Nintendo Wii

THE CONNECTIONS

-605 connected to SXRD via both HDMI and component

-8300 connected via HDMI to SXRD, + connected via digital coax to the 605 (The thought being I often watch non-HD via TV speakers.) If I'm reading some of the older posts correctly, wouldn't it also serve me well to have the 8300 connected via component to the 605 and get the benefit of the 605's upscaling for non-HD broadcasting?

-PS3 connected to 605 via HDMI

-360 connected to SXRD via component, connected to 605 via Toslink
(The theory being that the SXRD will only accept up to 1080i, so no need for HDMI, plus as you'll see below, it frees up a spot on the 605.)

-1920 connected to 605 via HDMI. Actually, this is is where I have a question...am I better off feeding the 605 from the 1920 via component (i.e., having the 605 perform video processing), or is 1920's upscaling as good as (or better) than the 605's, thus "passing through" the 605 via HDMI is a better move?

-Wii connected to 605 via component

Again, your thoughts are appreciated. Also, if I've missed something, please let me know. FWIW, I'm upgrading from an old Onkyo DS 575 (purchased in 2000), and was finally "pushed over the edge" when some co-workers got together and bought me the PS3 (a consolation for turning 40--LOL), since I am basically short one optical input on the 575. Snagging the 605 from Crutchfield for 379 should (1) fix my problem, and (2) give me some added features and audio/video quality.

Thanks for reading.

If it were me I'd swap the PS3 and SA box as I think I'd be watching more TV and less gaming. However, if you have a smart remote (ala Harmony), then I suppose it doesn't really matter.

I have the same receiver...waiting for my new tv. Question - I'm also going to connect my Wii via component.... will I need another component to go from the receiver to the tv, or can I assign it to the HDMI cable? (which I'll be also be using for my PS3)
