Odd "Not a DVD" Message on HD-A20
 

I decided to watch Criterion's Sword of Doom the other day, so I put it in my Toshiba A20 (latest firmware) for upconversion and got a message telling me that the disc was not in DVD format. So, instead of put on Criterion's Youth of the Beast that played fine. Anyone know why this would happen? I bought Sword of Doom New from DVDPlanet, so I doubt it is a boot.

did you try playing the disk in a different player?

is your Toshiba upgraded to the latest firmware?

Didn't try it in another player and yes my player has been upgraded to the latest firmware. The disc is in perfect condition, I just didn't think to throw it in my pc's DVD-ROM before putting it back on the shelf, I'll do that when I get home and report back, I just assumed it was something with the player since the disc is pristine.

It does sound like something with the player, but I didnt want to go there until you tried other options first.
