TV problem

I have been having a problem with my Samsung TXM2796HF. It is a 27 inch CRT HD (ready) TV. For the last 3 days it has been shutting off on its own while watching it. I try turning it back on, it makes the start up chimes, there is 2 seconds of audio, and then it turns off. After unplugging it for 30 seconds and turning it back on it will stay on for an hour or so, and turn off again on its own. It is approx 4 years old and no previous problems.
Any suggestions appreciated
Thanks

If it was not a tv I would suspect a heat issue. Is anything blocking the vents and are they clean?

Also check to see if you have a sleep timer set on it.

Thanks for the suggestions. It is not the sleep timer as it won't come back on right away. If you try to turn it on it makes the "on" chime, followed by a few seconds of audio, then off. If I unplug it for a couple minutes, it will come back on. I can't see that any vents are blocked. I have read on forums elsewhere that others have had similar problems, but no one seemed to have gotten a response.
thanks
